Mum’s Tiffin Recipe

So this is a recipe of a much loved favourite by Friends and Family. A few times Mum was asked to make a batch, because friends had let others try it and they had loved it too.

Ingredients

  • 225g – Rich Tea or Digestive biscuits
  • 115g – Butter or Margarine
  • 115g – Raisins, Glacier Cherries or Mixed Fruit
  • 20g – Granulated Sugar
  • 45g – Drinking Chocolate
  • 45g – Golden Syrup
  • 120g – Dark or Cooking Chocolate

Method

  1. Crush up Biscuits in a bag with rolling pin.
  2. Add Syrup, Butter, Sugar and Drinking Chocolate into a heavy bottom pan until just melt.
  3. Once melted Gently add the crushed biscuits and raisins or mixed fruit and stir together. Evenly coating all the ingredients.
  4. Empty into a lined tin or tray, then press gently.
  5. Chill in the fridge for an hour.
  6. Melt some chocolate in the microwave, until just melted. About 1 minute in an 800w microwave.
  7. Pour over the cooled Tiffin. Spread quickly into a thin even coating.
  8. Allow to Cool in the Fridge until Chocolate is set and hardened.
  9. Cut into 10-12 squares.
